The I-131, application for travel document, used to be commonly referred to as a “white passport” due to the fact that the document was white. As the color of the document has now changed, it is no longer referred to as a white passport. The purpose of the I-131 document is to allow non-citizens to apply for a reentry permit, a refugee travel document, or an advance parole travel document. The price of the application will vary depending on certain factors. For example, if individual is applying for a re-entry permit and is below the age of 13 or above the age of 80, it will be $360. However, if the applicant is between the ages of 14 and 79, the price will increase to $445. If you are interested in applying for naturalization through marriage, you must have been a green card holder for at least three years as well as been married to the U.S. citizen during that time. The current fee for filing an application for naturalization ranges from $595 to $680.
