Family and Friends of Deported Undocumented Immigrants Gather in Houston

Houston supporters of immigration reform recently gathered to bring attention to deportation issues. The crowd included children of undocumented immigrants whose parents had been removed from the U.S. and sent back to their native country. While recent national laws have been passed which protect certain undocumented immigrants who arrived with their families when they were children, many individuals and advocacy groups argue that there is much more to be done in light of the fact that families are being separated—namely, children divided from their parents. Other legislation may provide solutions but some has been tied up in congress. Such is the case of the bill that would provide a path to citizenship for those in the country illegally. The bill was passed in the senate but disapproved by the House of Representatives. The deferred action order signed and issued by President Obama will expire in about two years so legal immigrants, citizens and those wishing to become citizens alike are hoping that gatherings such as this one in Houston will help bring more attention to the immediate need for reforms in this area of the law. Speak with an immigration attorney right away if you need help with a deportation concern or other immigration matter.
Need help preventing deportation or removal?
Whether you are seeking citizenship or naturalization or if you were granted a visa and are facing removal, it is important that you have knowledgeable representation on your side. Deportation can occur in a number of circumstances but the process is usually initiated after an individual is found to be undocumented (or has an expired visa) or if a crime was allegedly committed. Those with a valid visa can be removed from the U.S. if they are found guilty of committing a crime. There are legal actions that can be taken to prevent removal and for deportation defense so do not face this situation on your own without a skilled attorney
