Obama Talks More on Immigration Reform

According to recent reports, Obama is continuing to make an effort on his hopes for immigration reform here in the United States during his second term. Statistics show that in the fiscal year of 2012, there are a total number of 409,849 individuals that were deported out of the U.S. During that year there were also another 102,965 illegal immigrants that were undocumented as well as young in age who were promised by the Administration that they would not be added into the numbers of the first category of those who were deported.

While there is talk of the concern of gun control taking precedence over immigration reform, the word on the street is that during this second term, President Obama has strong hopes for making a difference in these people lives. The Huffington Post shares that Obama wants to maintain a strong reputation as Commander in Chief as opposed to being called the “deporter in chief.” It also stated that Obama plans to make legitimate changes for the young undocumented immigrants, rate than just providing them with the new administrative program, which could honestly end at any time. Obama cares for the people and has shared his concern and plans to make a difference in this extremely diverse country. According to those working closely with the President, he claims that he is going to do whatever it takes to lock down a legislation for illegal immigrants that is permanent. His aim is that he can allow the 11 million undocumented immigrants within the country the ability to obtain citizenship; the crux is being able to influence Congress to vote in favor of this legislation.

Despite the numerous rumors of the concern over the country debt as well as gun control. President Obama claims that he has no intention of letting immigration reform slipping through the cracks, but he is rather making a diligent effort for change. Unfortunately, this process isn’t as simple as it appears because there are many politicians who are still not in favor of this reform for immigrants and they would rather focus on addressing the nation’s financial deficit and the pressing gun control issues. According to reports, the Republican Party is pushing for even stricter border security around the country in order to prevent there from being any more illegal immigrants entering in to the country. It is said that the country at this point has the tightest security on the borders than they have ever had before, and yet until he Republicans see even more security, they will not budge on agreeing to the reform possibilities.

The White House Administration shared with the Huffington Post that they believe they are doing what can be done for security enforcement, and in the past two generations it is tighter than ever. They also shared that one of the biggest skeptics of the legislation is the Republican Senator John Cornyn from Texas who allegedly does not feel as though the Obama administration has done what they can for the enforcing of the borders. As always he political parties are at odd, and in time the public will learn about the measures that will be taken in order to pass this desired legislation. At this point, reporters are still uncertain as to the steps that the president will be taking in order to lock down this reform, and influence the immigration committees, etc.
