In Newburgh,
New York, authorities are reporting that approximately one dozen workers at a warehouse in New York used forged immigration documents to obtain positions. Each of the immigrants were charged for their offenses.
According to New York police, all of the employees involved were charged with falsifying business record and offering false instrument for filing. The employees worked at Empire Warehouse at Stewart International Airport.
All of the employees used forged social security cards to get hired by the airport. The 12 immigrants came from Mexico, Peru, Chile, Guatemala and El Salvador.
When asked about the illegal workers, the company said that the 12 employees had passed TSA background checks. However, Ann Davis of TSA said that companies are responsible for properly verifying the documents employees produce when obtaining jobs.
