Man Faces Deportation after DUI Arrest

Luis L. Calderon of Delaware faces
deportation and other criminal charges after being arrested for drunken driving.
Georgetown police officers became alerted to the situation when a motorist flagged down an officer after Calderon allegedly began running other drivers off the road.
According Georgetown Police Lt. Lawrence Grose, the officer who responded to the call reported that Calderon's vehicle was moving from lane to lane, forcing other vehicles onto the shoulder of the road.
The officer activated his lights and sirens to signal for Calderon to pull over, but he continued to drive for another two miles. When Calderon was eventually pulled over, the officer discovered that he was intoxicated.
Calderon, who originally gave police a false name, is being held in custody at the Sussex County Institution on charges of
driving under the influence, disregarding a police signal, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation, and multiple traffic offenses. An immigration detainer was also filed against him by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
