A proposal requiring
citizenship screening for applicants of city and county business licenses has run into a road block and may be done for the session of the Utah Legislature. Those applying for business licenses would need to provide identification proving legal residency and then sign an affidavit to that effect. However, the proposal is struggling due to the fact that it would be creating unnecessary new burdens on businesses.
