Immigrant Trying to Come to U.S. for Funeral

Currently, a humanitarian pardon is pending for an illegal immigrant to come back to the U.S. to attend her three-year-old son's funeral after she was sent back to Mexico. The woman, Hermelinda Perez, was in the U.S. illegally when she had her child. She was going through the process of becoming a legal immigrant, but had to return to Mexico during this process because she broke the law by being in the U.S. illegally. During this time, her son died from a heart attack. She is now working to receive a pardon to return for the funeral.
