In Vitro Babies Denied U.S. Citizenship

A Chicago, Illinois native who gave birth to twins through in vitro recently discovered that the children will not be receiving U.S. citizenship. According to reports, the woman recently went to the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv to apply for the citizenship but apparently cannot get citizenship for them unless she can prove that the egg or sperm used to create the embryo was from an American citizen. As the children were born overseas, this is a common problem especially in in vitro matters where the donor information is kept private.
