Diplomat Seeks U.S. Asylum

A gay Saudi diplomat is currently seeking asylum in the U.S. as he believes he will likely face death if he returns home. Ali Ahmad Asseri was stationed at the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles and now faces having to leave. Reportedly, his diplomatic passport was not renewed and he has since lost his position at the consulate. Homosexuality is reportedly against the law in Saudi Arabia.
